Review of Red Bluff, California

Mean, Shallow Town and People
Star Rating - 1/29/2017
I grew up in this town and when I moved away - out of CA, living all across the US - I could not believe how much kinder people were in every other state and city that I lived but Red Bluff. I enjoyed living elsewhere so much that I never returned accept for very brief visits to family as I was reminded of the small minded, shallow people that make up the town. God Help You if you ever needed anything. You basically have snob and snobbier which is hysterical because as a community if you could even call it that in my day, they had nothing to be proud of. And if you grow up in the lower income bracket, you are really screwed. The teachers and community at large discriminate against the poor since there is no color to pick on they have to pick on something after they brutalize and mutilate the cows andy other things that moves out on the hills. Girls, Boys, doesn't matter. They breed em young to judge, hate, compete in nasty ways. What a mean, vile little town. Only other place that was similar was Sacramento which is larger so it's a large Red Bluff crossed with Strip Malls and Gang Bangers. Happy to say now, I am a 1% er, completely self made. I have now been all over the world and lived all over the US. I can still say Red Bluff is the worst place in my memory. If you want to make something of your life, run. If you are a youngster trapped in that god awful place, don't let them brainwash you in the beer, fighting, hunting, judgmental lifestyle. Educate yourself beyond that fishbowl and plan to leave. Go out of state for college and experience a different point of view. If you are poor, don't worry, there are scholarships, grants, loans, etc. You can make it. I did. I worked my way through school, got a great job even in a recession, have survived every recession. I do thank the experience for providing the contrast of what not to be. Good luck to all those too fearful or don't know how to leave. I wish you well.

I was a natural blonde female who grew up in Compton, CA. I had friends of all ethnicities. I graduated from Compton J.C. and got a high paying job with great benefits with the City of Los Angeles. I am now retired but in no way inactive. I still have many friends of all races and find that you get out of life what you put into it, namely a welcoming attitude.

The crime rate is astronomical in red bluff. You can fact check this. I agree with your post 100 percent. You are not kidding. The crime rate alone is enough to turn anyone away. Passing through Main Street you can see that the local residents take no pride in that town. Lots of weeds and plants are just left to die along the streets oh and the homeless population are even in the parks. This atmosphere is not condusive to drawing people in. The town has nothing to offer newcomers. To put it bluntly it's downright depressing. No pride.
